My name is Annie Jepthas and I was born in the '50s, I grew up in the Northern Cape Province (Namaqualand, near Boesmanland). Became a teacher during the 1975 riots in SA. Here I was part of the struggle and attended meetings arranged by the U.D.F (United Democratic Front) with the political figures like Steve Biko, Jakes Gerwel and others. As educator I taught in the townships on the Cape Flats for many years, during which I assisted different historically disadvantaged communities by uplifting and improving their lives by bringing in experts in that field, that could assist parents in the upbringing of their children. During this time I realised the enormous need in my communities, especially the need for more daycare facilities and pre-schools to prepare children and give them a head start.

I established my own Montessori School, the first of its kind in the townships of Cape Town. My love for people & travelling got a hold of me however, and in 2003 I decided to do the course and become a tour guide.
I worked as a freelance guide ever since and enjoyed being an embassador for my country showing people places of interest, important sites and sharing personal experiences i.e. my dads story...his name being written on the floor plan in the District 6 Museum.
Since 2003, I have worked with many different nationalities and therefore decided to start my own operating company. I am now happy to be organizing tours and having the visitors enjoy and appreciate our beautiful country.
Xam tours offers our visitors a safe and reliable service and a means to explore South Africa and its many wonders. Not only do we serve foreign visitors, but we also endeavour to help local South Africans to become more aquainted with their own land and heritage. This is done through normal tours for couples and families. Trips for Schools and learners as well as special tours for senior citizens, also form part of our service and special care is taken in these trips to ensure the safety and confort of all. The convenience of a Homestay as well as arranging accomodation at B&Bs, is also available to make your stay in South Africa as effortless as possible.
